NBN Rewind 19 – Floods

When the waters of the Macleay River flooded Kempsey in ‘63, the people of Northern New South Wales rallied together.

When Grafton flooded in ‘86, NBN was there to show the havoc cause by the inundation.

Essential services, food, mail and medical supplies, were sometimes delivered by surfboat crews, or air drops.

It was Neighbour helping Neighbour.

NBN News followed the Hunter River Floods of ‘71, from Muswellbrook, down to Singleton and through to Maitland where low lying areas suffered devastation.
