Rewind Series 5 Episode 9 – Education for local kids, outside the classroom

Education is the foundation of our future, but sometimes the most important lessons are learned outside the classroom

A day of adventure came to Gosford students, who enjoyed an excursion to Sydney Airport, including a visit to the control tower and a grand tour of the Qantas facilities

At Muswellbrook Public, a working bee of local dads completed new climbing equipment, giving students a brand-new space to play

On the shores of Lake Macquarie, campers took a break from Christmas holiday games to explore a visit by the local Book Mobile and listened in on story time

And at Belbird Primary near Cessnock, an anniversary celebration saw students dress in costumes from a bygone era. They learnt about the history of coal mining in the district and enjoyed a performance by  artist John Murray, on an ancient stringed instrument called a dulcimer

Education is a journey of discovery, and NBN News Cameras were there to capture the joy of local kids in their formative years
