If you're a Human Rights supporter, for the humane treatment of legitimate refugees, including the three-year-old Tharnicaa Australian-born girl from the Murugappan family from Biloela, who is currently very sick and isolated from her family in a Perth hospital, then Amnesty International Gold Coast and Refugee support groups are providing an opportunity to proudly voice your opinion by conducting a Vigil at Surfers Paradise, demanding the just and deserved release of that family from detention, granting them permanent residency and allowing them to return to  Qld and  continue to make a positive contribution to their local community, to Qld and Australia.

Come and show your needed support for the release of all remaining refugees from detention, as well as the acceptance of the New Zealand Offer to resolve the problem with the refugees still trapped on Nauru and PNG.

If you're justly appalled to see this three-year-old Tharnicaa from Biloela, needlessly suffering from vomiting, diarrhea and dizziness for 10 days, with her temperature sometimes exceeding 40 degrees, and can imagine yourself, or your child or sister, forced to endure the fear, and this sickness, in a unfamiliar hospital, after being medically evacuated to Perth, well you can be active in your support and join us by attending our vigil, organised by Amnesty.

So, proudly voice your opinion, and join us at the beach-side of the Surfer's Paradise sign at the Esplanade, opposite McDonalds to support Tharniaa and other refugees who are also needlessly suffering, and just want their international human rights respected by your Australian Government.

Access: Limited metered street parking, Paradise Mall parking from Hanlan Street (Gold Coast Highway), Bruce Bishop Carpark on Beach Road, 2 hour FREE parking under Coles in the Chevron Renaissance or park at Broadbeach and catch the tram to Cavill Avenue

We acknowledge that this event is being held on the lands of the Yugambeh people, and pay respect to elders past and present.

This will be a Covid-safe event, please check in and respect social distancing guidelines.
