The 1960’s was a golden age for motor sport in our region.. and of course our News crews jumped at the chance to hit the hots spots

TQ Midgets were a feature in Muswellbrook, along with speedway side cars and motor bikes. Huge crowds were there for all action at the Hill View Circuit in 1963

Fast forward to 1965 and the Salty Creek Speedway was pumping

Fearless riders entertained onlookers at the Edgeworth track..

In Newcastle, the MG Car Club held their annual GymKhana, to test precision driving and agility

1966 saw Go Kart racing on the Central Coast

And Heddon Greta speedway, didn’t disappoint…all the classics were there in 1968..

Skilled drivers pushed their machines to the limit, sometimes a little too much!..
